One of my relatives is going on a 'In the footsteps of Jesus' holiday in September. I find that a bit ironic.

I think there's a stable somewhere with a blue plaque on it.
I wouldn't go at the moment - tilly, what are the tour operators advising your relative?
..it's right next to a large missile silo. You do wonder what JC would make of the place nowadays if he turned up again and took the tour himself.
Will it include the places in Gaza where Samson was eyeless and shackled in a mill?

Naomi, I know it's not a Christian country. I suppose I should have put this in travel, without the irony comment. I just wanted to know what other people thought about travelling to Israel at the moment.

I know better than to get involved in discussions about religion.
I'm not discussing religion - I simply wondered why you felt it 'ironic'. Personally, Israel is not somewhere I'd choose to go to at the moment, but having said that, on a guided tour your friend will probably be quite safe. Such tours are big business in Israel.
I'm having some friends round for lunch but all I have is a bread roll and a sardine. Any suggestions?
Question Author
Looks like a sardine sandwich, cut up into 5000 pieces, McMouse.
Question Author
The tour big business is reassuring to know, naomi. Thank you.
I'm sure they'll be safe, but I'd personally never go there.
Mcmouse don't you need 5 rolls (or was it fishes?)
...and some water
Crumbs Prudie you're right.
O little town of Bethlehem..doesn't exist ..it's like a concrete security border check point ! Armed militia every which way....
I'd go but there again I have a peculiar habit of travelling to conflict areas.
Eccles I would not go back...I wanted donkies tied to trees and peaceful men with beards in flowing robes...not checkpoint Charlie and body scan !
