I think he's great, he's so camp it's hysterical.
well said boo and that irish accent i could listen to him all day
I still kind of like him, but think he was definitely best on 'So Graham Norton' when he was with Channel 4. As BOO has said, I think it's his campness. Having said this though, I can easily see why lots of people don't like him!
Did anyone ever see the hour long special he presented from Japan, ''Ah So Graham Norten''. SOOOO funny, always wanted to see it repeated.
Makes me feel sick, along with Julian clary. why have they got to be so over the top with everything they do?

raysparks, At last -someone with me.
people have always been fond of camp tv personalities, I do like him actually i'd much rather him than ant or dec

yeh,i like him, i think its because his sence oh humour is very close to the bone (no pun intended)

but i suppose i could see why people do not like him!!

also, i saw the japan special...... hilarious!!

He was funny in Father Ted... dunno what happened really.

Biazrrely, for a nation as homophobic as ours, camp men have always been very popular as entertainers. Partly it is their rapier wit, honed over years of verbal sparring with the less enlightened people they meet - i.e. straight men - and partly it is perhaps the 'safety' element they dispaly towards women, with whom gay men empathise, uncluttered by any potential for sexual exchanges.

To the specifics of the question, I think the BBC were being dog-in-the-manger with Graham Norton - they could see his appeal on Channel 4 and decided to poach him, the thinking apparently is "We have no idea what to do with him now we've got him, but at least he isn't making huge ratings for them." This shall henceforth be known more simply as 'The Davina Principle'.

Because Norton's skill at walking a very thin line between risque and downright offensive, on live TV,is his strength, and the BBC cannot possibly allow such a maverick loose on its Reithian airwaves, he is effectively shackled and toothless. He is let out to front ratings-busters like Strictly Whatever which no-one, with the exception of Davina McCall could fail to score with, and will doubt spend nine months of the year in the U.S., counting his BBC money and laughing all the way to the bank.

he lad who works for me that was on strictly dance fever last year and is now thru to the final says he is a brilliant bloke and naturally funny, at the various stages of the auditions graham was able to remember everyone's name and all about their various lives, he made alot of fans thru it, as he is apparently a very sincere\and hard working guy.
I agree he was very funny in Father Ted and whenever i see the episode of him in the caravan it still cracks me up. I can't believe that people find his presenting stuff entertaining, all he does is camp it up and make jokes refering to Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas...yes Graham, we know he is a lot oder than she is...get over it! Got to be better than Davina though, she is dreadful.

Well I've only seen him on BBC and I find him a posturing idiot.
