Does anyone have any suggestions on how to brighten highlighted blonde hair that has now gone flat, lost the yellow vibrancy.
I am not trying to achieve ash/white blond (which is what happens when you use a purple shampoo) this just makes it more tired and drab looking. I am actually trying to find something to inject more of a healthy natural yellow tone/hue into the hair, in between highlights. I have tried the majority of shampoos which seem to do little to bring out the yellowy blond.
The difficulty with this is that most people seem to want to strip out the yellowy hue and take blond to a more ash colour, but I am looking for the opposite, something that keeps that yellowy look without it looking cheap.
It seems to be either golden or honeyish coloured or too far the other way, faded and ashen...any suggestions for achieving brilliant bright yellowy blonde?
I suspect the salon left the foils on a little too long and it lost any hue to it which is why it looks kind of drab now.
This is not an answer to your question. But I remember when I started to hilight my hair which was very long I bought a bottle of peroxide bleach for 1/- (5p) - dipped a toothbrush into it and streaked my hair with it. I done that for years.
Get some chamomile tea bags and soak about 4 in half a pint of boiling water overnight. Squeeze out and rinse hair with the liquid in your final rinse. it will highlight golden yellow and leave your hair shiny too.
