Why Do People Hate Me?
54 Answers
I know this is a depressing question, but what is it about me that people hate?
I'm often avoided or glanced over when it comes to my daily life, but I don't know why that is. I'm a fairly Normal person. My favourite animal is cats, my favourite band Is Slipknot, my favourite colour is dark purple, I like to listen to music, read and collect things. I'm really normal, if not boring.. So why do people dislike me?

the only way to know is to genuinely analyse who you are
its great for everyone to try to cheer you up and tell you its fine etc, but fact is, some people are just not very nice to be around - so only you can answer honestly ... are you fun? friendly? polite? amiable? etc
or are you a bit snooty? or condescending? or pushy? or gossippy? or loud? a liar? or do you do any of the many things that will irritate other people.. talk over them? put them down? attention seeking? flirting with others boyfriends? always know best? bring the conversation down with complaints or moans? too serious? etc etc.
i do actually think its probably like many other young people - just paranoia - but if you genuinely think you are unlikeable only you can say for sure.
but think of it this way - do you like everyone you meet? do you actually want to hang around and be friends with everyone you meet?
unlikely,
but its not because there is anythign wrong with them really, they just dont become close friends ... its just the same as all the boyfriends/girlfriends you may have over the years - you will look back and there may not be anything wrong with them, no particular reason you didnt stay together ... they are just 'not the one' ... and its similar with friends ... you just 'click' or you dont...

Many years ago I had a boyfriend who had had a business allied to hotel and catering he had many, many acquaintances not real friends and no siblings. Too much time building a business had robbed him of leisure time, his contemporaries were married and had families. He envied me as I had at the time two female friends I spent a lot of time with we had interests in common, the same moral values one was a colleague, one I met at College. Eventually I house shared with one of them for two years until I married. Those two ladies are still good friends and we are in regular contact 40 years later. In more recent years I made two more female friends both former colleagues I have known them for 12 years. Three of us love and have cats, two of us love history, three belong to the National Trust (I get to go in free) three of us like classical music, two love making pickles, jams etc, four love gardening two grow lots of lovely veg, one likes horses, all of us enjoy reading. So we mix and match we are all interesting in our own way and different too. I sense you are a little unsettled at the moment you like reading, is there a book club in your area? Maybe you can find details in your local library? A pub playing live music? I love my own company but can start a conversation with anyone. Maybe you don't have much money how about a walk in the park, the fresh air will do you good and you might meet a friendly dog walker, volunteer somewhere, most animal charities are always looking for people to help them, then you may meet people of a similar mind set. Sometimes you have to give yourself that extra push, take little steps you will be surprised what you can do and soon I hope you will have new friends, maybe your reserve put some people off, show them the real you.
