Can anyone help me please I have a Toshiba A30 laptop and recently it turned itself off whilst i was in the middle of doing something, It wouldn't work after that so I took it too get fixed and had my hard drive changed it was ok for a while when it started happening again so I took it back again and was told it was a corrupt file I've had it back a month and its happened again but only this time it would turn back on and work fine until i tried installing something. I thought it was best to reboot it and start all over again so I did but when I tried installing works and other stuff it kept turning off and when I turned it back on would say it had reovered from a serious error. It won't let me install anything at all so thought maybe I should do that chkdsk thing that microsoft recommended so i did n it froze again! So I turned it off and tried rebooting it again but it crashed half way through rebooting it so now I have lost everything it won't reboot it just comes on a black screen no windows xp just displays an error message on it and keeps coming up over and over!! Does anyone know what is going on and what can I do to fix it????

Sounds like the outfit you set it to ripped you off by replacing the hard drive when that was not the fault. The problem you describe is not caused by the hard drive but a firm diagnosis is not possible from this distance. The problem could be caused by, (a) faulty ram (b) a faulty cpu (c) a faulty motherboard. To add to the problem some vid cards, sound cards, network cards and modems can also cause problems such as you describe. I regret than only a very skilled IT technician running very complex tests will be able to locate and fix the problem - it would probably be cheaper to get yourself a new machine.
