Sounds like the outfit you set it to ripped you off by replacing the hard drive when that was not the fault. The problem you describe is not caused by the hard drive but a firm diagnosis is not possible from this distance. The problem could be caused by, (a) faulty ram (b) a faulty cpu (c) a faulty motherboard. To add to the problem some vid cards, sound cards, network cards and modems can also cause problems such as you describe. I regret than only a very skilled IT technician running very complex tests will be able to locate and fix the problem - it would probably be cheaper to get yourself a new machine.
