Walking is good for older people (over 60), or heavy people. I cant tell you how often I see young women (30's), with normal to chunky figures walking to loose weight, and they wonder why they arnt, its because their hear rate is barely effected by the walking. Now power walking is good. If you're not breathing heavy, and sweating a bit, or feeling your muscles work and tighten , then your not working hard enough. I can get my heart rate up and break a fantastic swet just by intense stretching and toning, but I work very hard and am very focused to make sure Im not wasting time in my work out. Thirty minutes of intense cardio a day, and you'll see results in two weeks. Good luck!
PS. Im not talking bad about walking, but I think most people misunderstand doctors when they tell people walking is efficient excersising...because it totally depends on the persons weight, age, and physical ability. If they are lacking is those areas and are older in years, then walking can be very beneficial. But walking under 60 years old (usually) is a waist of time.
