Selling Event tickets for more than purchase price.

If I were to buy tickets for an event, knowing that the price of the tickets from the same place was about to increase, with that information being in the public domain, would I be committing any offence by later selling them on for more than the purchase price?

I've been told that ticket touts only commit the offence of obstruction or something like that, and selling tickets for more than the purchase price is not in itself illegal.

I wouldn't have thought so because you could put a ticket or tickets on ebay lets say.The starting price is the price you paid for the ticket.If it is for a popular event, at the end of that auction there is a good chance that you will have ended up selling that ticket at a higher price.So at the end of the day you would be selling the ticket or tickets not at face value.

For example my mate last year had 2 T in the Park Tickets for both days.However a month before the event he could no longer attend.So he put both tickets on ebay & the starting price was face value.He ended up selling the tickets way over face value.He never broke any law in doing this.

Thanks Gerry, but would that still hold true if I did it deliberately? I can imagine there might be a law for example that would prohibit me from buying a very large number of tickets deliberately to increase their value - by artificially reducing the supply available - and then selling them on at a higher price.
