No idea where to put this question so ill try here- my neighbour plays loud music from morning till night. My other half works nights so ive asked her to keep it down a bit during the day, she says she will but never does. I hate to keep moaning at her cos she's every rights to play music in her own house, we could handle the noise if she turned the base of, that literally shakes the whole house. I've even said play your music but turn the base of. I'd hate to be "that" person that reports her but not sure what else to do, any advice please?

Well it seems our talk with her when straight over her head. She had me up all night (night with her music) but her constant banging of doors, talking loudly and bouncing up the stairs. So i will be reporting her today! Wish me luck x
I've been in your shoes Jonah. It's not nice having problem neighbours. You have asked her to turn it down, she hasn't, so you have every right to complain. Be THAT person. has heard of L headphones? She can then play it as loudly as she likes. Only she will hear it after that. I wish you good luck. xx
^ sorry, problems... "has she never heard of PERSONAL headphones? "
It sounds to me like she's doing it on purpose now especially as she's making other noises too. Some people are just really horrible and couldn't give a stuff abut the problems they cause. Yes, reporting her to the Council is the best bet, but it won't be a quick and easy solution I'm afraid, but best of luck anyway.
I had this problem with the tenants below me in a private flat letting - I started to keep a diary I could show to the landlord. (In the end they did a flit, I was very relieved....)
She will be in breach of her council tenancy agreement as well, so you might want to try going to the housing department of the council too, they have to make their tenants behave under threat of eviction.
we had one of those in our street. Again single mother of 4. Unbelievable what happened next.

Their next door neighbours couldn't cope as at that time they had small babies. Fiasco led to their parents facing one another.

Police was called to no avail - other mediators tried to work it out between two families to no avail. Eventually the "good" family ended up selling up and moving out.

Said single mother of 4 has now gone onto have 2 more. I know she would not have liked music blaring when she got two more babies.
My new next door neighbours have been extensively renovating their two up two down mid terrace since the beginning of the year, in recent months the noise has got out of hand. They hammer at 7am, drill, hammer etc till 10pm and once at 1am. My other half spoke to them about it the other day and asked them to stop at 8pm and quit the early morning noise, they agreed.... then same night continued (more noisily) until after 10pm :(
I am ringing the council tomorrow for advice.
^^^^ their parents (elderly grandparents)
