I'm after one of these low wide candles, like 9" or so wide for the coffee table. I have three small ones at the moment I want to replace with just one. Not ebay, I want to be able to go out & buy from a store. Has anyone seen any on their travels? I keep looking but I haven't seen any so far.

Is it not expensive the ingredients Tambo?
Question Author
Just looked his image up factor, thanks!
Free cos I used old wax. I used a tin to melt wax.
Question Author
Ah right! May be expensive from scratch. Car boot would be a good source for old candles eh!
Not old candles. Wax left overs from used candles.
Question Author
Good idea though, never thought of making my own! I could use an old pan may be on top of the oven? A large wide low glass receptacle to pour it in to & may be a metal kebab stick to dangle a wick from? I could get a wick from Aldous!
The black was food coloring that didnt mix ;)
Question Author
Ah, it would need shredding wouldn't it to melt better! Now it's sounding a chore lol!
Dont spoil a pan when a baked bean tin on gas will do. Any stick to hold string in place on jar while cooling.

I'd need a lot of melted wax though Tambo wouldn't I for a wide chubby candle. I may give it a go in an old pan if I come across some cheap candles I can shred & melt down. Thanks!
