Apparently, he'd gone 20-odd games without a win, but why would they allow him to go through the pre-season malarkey, presumably getting new players in etc and then give him the elbow after just one game - it does beggar belief!

The thing that occurs to me is that they must have someone lined up to take over almost immediately.
