I never saw the first series and I don't think I'll be watching any more either, an evening of depression, The Mill and The Village. They could save money and put them together, although I felt very nostalgic of some locations in both. Why can't you hear the planes taking off in The Mill, it's more or less at the end of Manchester's runway.

I watched the first series and am enjoying the second. Didn't like the Mill this time round.

both The Village and The Mill appear 'dark' but life for those folks then was mostly 'dark'.

Both series, to me, are entertaining (if that is the right word) and informative.

they lay it on with a trowel. All the rich people are right barstewards and all the workers are salt of the earth types.
Being the BBC they even had a 'noble' blackman who was racially abused by,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the rich people only. lol.
