Not sure of the point you are making tambo - but the notion that wealth gets you help when you need it is erronious - people need to know how desparate you are, and as advised, hiding the condition is one of the first rules.
As for 'planning' - he may well have done so, but why would that be so odd?
We are talking someone living with the unliveable - so time plan an exit is perfectly feasible.

The method is not about killing yourself, it's about killing the pain, which is why some people use violent methods - one last hit back at the uncontrolable and inescapapable despair.
No-one who kills themselves is thinking of the most apropriate method for anyone left behind.

Believe me, I think you wrestle with the 'do I?' or 'don't I' right up to the last few seconds, the planning, tambo, is actually fairly easy. It was my two that brought me back off the edge, not in person but in thought. Okay, one can argue about how close I was but a belt, and looped, hanging off a beam, I would say is close enough.
