aylesbury ducklings

I have just recently bought 2 aylesbury ducklings, they are now a week old and still looking healthy. everyone keeps asking me will i get eggs from them and to be honest i really dont know. Will i only get eggs from them if they are females and if i do will the be edible if a male is not present.

yep-you will only get eggs if the ducks you bought are female!! And no you do not need a drake, they will lay eggs anyway, you'll be needing a drake if you want more ducklings though.

thank you very much for your reply...I am still new to keeping ducks so forgive me for my daft question....i am not looking to have little ducklings although it would be exciting...we dont really have enough room....I was wondering how you sex the ducklings
Hi nessie, I cant help you on sexing the ducklings I'm afraid, I'm no expert, there is probably some info on the net if you google though.

Think sexing a duckling is tricky business only for prfessional like a vet. If <p> come up on end of address in url when you click on link, remove it and it should work: http://www.liveducks.com/faqs.html#maleorfemale

ah thank you i shall have a good read on that web site later on....i ve been searching ofr days and i have not found that web page...it seems very informative. thanks for your help...
