To be honest, nothing coming out of China shocks me anymore!
I was hearing about this on the radio this morning. Incredible. I'd never even heard of this cult before.

It's nothing to do with China particularly Ratter. This could be anywhere.
More mad people !
If Chinese people faith is misplaced, how could they ever find the truth that brings real satisfaction?

Down through the ages, the Chinese have followed the tradition of worshipping their ancestors, idols, and the spirits in nature, engrossed in the multitudes of rites and rituals connected with them.
So as a result, the concept of a personal God, or Creator, is something foreign to most Chinese.

Yet to satisfy our spiritual needs, we must come to know not only who the Most High God is but also what his purpose for mankind is.

I did 6 weeks in China and found them to be very open-minded and helpful people.

Like all religions, if they are not taught the Bible properly they will never find the true God.(Acts 17:26-27)

/if they are not taught the Bible properly they will never find the true God./
Can't they just read it for themselves GL? or does it have to be interpreted like the koran?
goodlife, did the Chinese mention Chinese whispers to you?
jomifl; Your point being .. ?
I think the key word here is "Cult" which usually seems to attract the mentally ill or mentally delusional as it's leaders/members
Question Author
Hi Khandro, perhaps too subtly my point was that no matter what it says in a holy book such as the bible there are always some who can pervert the meaning to suit their own delusions. So, we have a bible that says somewhere 'thou shalt not kill' and a devotee of the bible who kills someone to propagate the message of that bible. Perhaps it would be better if there were no holy books as they are prone to being misunderstood by almost everybody.
jomifl: Oh I see your point, that's OK, I mistakenly thought there was some link being made to the actions of this Chinese pond-life and the teachings of Jesus.
You are correct in saying "there are always some who can pervert the meaning to suit their own delusions" - particularly so on Answerbank :0)
Khandro, for information only. Smileys don't detract from spiteful intent.
naomi;// for information only// I don't do //spite//.

^ That sounds a little spiteful to me, notwithstanding that my post wasn't even addressed to you. Are you looking for gratuitous confrontation? If so, I'm not your man.
Khandro, not at all. Simply observing that your tedious penchant for shooting the messenger belongs behind the bike sheds rather than in the midst of intelligent discussion.

choose your weapons..shotgun or rapier?
I think her weapon of choice would be the rapier, but I'm too much of a coward (and too bored) to fight.
I shall remember you all in my daily prayers (with Gods help)
//choose your weapons..shotgun or rapier? //

Neither. The pen, or in this case, the keyboard suffices.
