If I want to post a link to another thread or a news page but want to make it display as a word so as to make a readable sentence, what is the AB edit bix syntax to create the url link?

I've seen this done recently (July) and I asked how, as soon as I saw it but it was off topic for that thread, got lost in the flow and, consequntly, didn't get answered.

I searched for topics like "Answerbank user guide" but nothing was found. Based on experience with bold, italic etc, I reckon that standard markup syntax will not work here. :-/

Thanks in advance.

It's magic performed by me mostly, so sorry, we don't have a way to let you create hyperlinks.

We used to have a problem of some nasty users pretending a link was www.amazon.co.uk - which actually went somewhere else malicious. That's why we would be concerned in adding this functionality.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that.

Can you not adapt the swear filter to automatically reject all domains which are not either Answerbank, Wikipedia, a selection of national newspapers or other sources of reference material, according to popular demand by ABers?

p.s. Are you Buenchico? (he was the last person I saw using one of these links).
