Some of you might have seen this, but show it to your close family, if they haven't seen it..

It was played in a cinema in Hong Kong, to shock the unaware public.

Very clever advert .
Took me a few seconds to see .
Very Good
Do all of you know that now if you are stopped for a roadside check or are involved in any accident, even if it is not your fault, the police now take your mobile phone away for analysis.
If it shows that you received or made calls while the car was moving
( this is shown by the device in every mobile that tracks its location to locate the nearest signal) then you will be arrested for using a mobile while driving. At present this means 3 points on your licence and a fine, but there are moves underway to make using a phone while driving the same as drink driving with an automatic 12 month ban!
I was travelling from the airport in New York the other week and I couldn`t believe how many people were using their mobile phones whilst driving on the freeway - some were even texting. It`s not against the law there which is surprising.
Mobile use is now the leading cause of death on the road? Is that true? Where?

That seems reasonable, Eddie.
One very easy way to stop it, impound the vehicle on the spot for 24 hours, and then impose a £250 charge to recover said vehicle.

Well, how patronising was that then?
eddie - i've just told my colleague that and he came up with this reply .

Just have a cheap phone on dsiplay , so that the coppers take that one and wont know about the actual phone that you used
//Well, how patronising was that then? //

Baldric - What , the advert - what is patronising about it ?

I think most people know not to use a phone when driving, though some choose to ignore the rules, that's up to them. Two of our motors have hands free installed, in the other one, if i'm on my own the phone goes in the glovebox and stays there, or if OH is with me she looks after things,
Simples!
Indeed most people do know - however a lot of people ignore it - so people clearly need reminding

Nothing patronising about that

///however a lot of people ignore it - so people clearly need reminding///

No they don't, they haven't forgotton, they make a conscious choice to ignore it knowing the penalties because there's a good chance they'll not get caught.
Whils't I dont wish to labour on this point further - my statement ''clearly needs reminding '' doesn't mean that they have forgotten - but rather the message needs to be re-inforced , as they clearly chose to ignore it .

As i said , nothing patronising about that .

If people are happy to have Big Brother constantly nagging them and cannot make positive decisions for themselves without having to seek constant approval from others I can see why they would think like that!
They don't confiscate the phone just check to see if it was used while on the move. They can search you and the car if they think you are not admitting to it, just as they do for drugs.
eddie - i think what he was trying to say was that having this phone on display will mean that the coppers will examine that one and not the one that you may have made a call on , given that they would not know about it
^^ I realise that but I don't think the police are that stupid, just to take the one obviously on display for them.
