Should Uk Newspapers Front Page James Foley's Last Moments Alive?

I've just been into town and find pictures of this poor mans last moments on most newspapers front pages. I find it both upsetting and disrespectful to both James Foley and his family. Do you agree, and if you don't what is the reasoning behind this abhorrent reporting?

Ummmm I agree the world has to know about theses nutters but why the front page? Do the newspapers assume no one reads the stories inside? A headliner without a picture, with 'pics inside' would sell just as many papers as one showing the whole of the front page as a picture of this mans last moments, I just find it disrespectful.

I'm pretty sure that his family welcome the media coverage to show the world what happened as would I if that happened to someone I know.

Media censorship due to a few enraged individuals IS NOT the way forward.

I wish there were more people highlighting the murders of innocent school children and hospital patients or were those murders different to this one?

All have the graphic image, interesting to note however that both the Guardian and The Daily Mail have almost the same image.

Henrietta I do not want an outright ban of media coverage of this incident. I just think the WAY it has been reported by some newspapers could have been a bit more respectful to his family. If my son had been murdered I would want it reported -I would not want his last moments splashed across the front page or a photo of his body lain in a pool of blood.

I’m in two minds about this. I understand what you’re saying, but I saw the tabloids in the supermarket today, and as much as the picture on the front page of ‘The Sun’ appalled me, graphic images do hit home. That is the reality, and although we’re far removed from Iraq, we really need to know the reality. Truth hurts – and “a picture paints a thousand words” – as ‘they’ say.

The guy was a a journalist, there to report to the world what was going on. How ironic it would be if he died for doing this, and his death was quashed in the newspapers because we felt to squeamish to see it ...

ok Baldric I'll agree the remark may have been offensive to you ( the 'you' should have been 'one' as it was not directed at you but the general public) if you agree your original comment may have been a tad pedantic.
