I seem to have burned a bit of stuff (?Jam, bacon fat) on to the glass cover of my hob. New to these hobs and I don't want to damage the glass. Hob cleaner's not shifting it - what can I use to get off this dry baked bit?
soak it with water for a while boxtops to soften it with a touch of washing up liquid to lift the grease and use your fingernail to scrape it so it won't damage it (it's what my parents do with their ceramic hob) Try not to use heat as it will make it worse
Get yourself a little hob cleaning gadget, like a razor blade in a metal holder, to scrape it off. It won't damage the hob, its designed for the job and my hob came with one. You can buy them on line for a couple of £s, I've just bought a new one.
lakeland do a hob scraper. I use it all the time and its never damaged my hob. I fold a piece kitchen roll over the burned bit and pour on boiling water from the kettle -this softens the burnt bits. When cool i scrape off the stuff with the scraper
