I'm not long back from the eye hospital. I can't see properly at the moment. There is some good news and some not so good news but it's NOT bad. The good news is that there is NO new vessels in my right eye at all. What was seen was either old but there is nothing new forming. It may have been the small one we already knew about. Left eye...haemorrhage is not there or cannot be seen so chances are it has sorted itself out but they do need to perform more laser treatment on the eye as there is something there that needs dealing with I think it maybe a few new vessels she spotted. So here goes...

I think someone hates me Bernie :( but not to worry I'll get through. Am I right in thinking you are diabetic too?

Thank you Marval.

I thought you were but wasn't sure and I didn't want to start a thread to ask. I screwed up in my teenage years and my eyes took the brunt. My nurses and team said I was very lucky I came away with this, but it's something that they want to keep an eye on (no pun intended)
Hi Queenie, good things are looking up xx
Thinking of you Queen. Hope all goes well. ;0) x
its taken me 15 years to realise if you DO look after your diabetes things can get better i have had no cakes ,biscuits chocky or ice cream for nearly a year now so now blood sugar levels steady for the 1st time lol just wish i didn't feel so old at 56!!
Congratulations Bernie!
thx grasscarp
My poor mother never did get to grips with it.
Question Author
I always knew the consequences as a young age. When I became a teen, that's where I came a cropper and I didn't care. But I've learnt again the consequences and I value what I have and that I got off so lightly. I don't eat as much cakes and chocolate as I used to I was terrible but being on DAFNE it does help you can work out what carbs are in such items and dose for it. It gives a bit more freedom.
Thank you Sib, hope you are well.
Thank you grasscarp :)
i'm the 1st to hold my hands up grasscarp i just carried on as tho it wasn't there paying for it now with my feet i have Neuropathy (loss of feeling in my feet) l have a broken big toe at the moment because of that it is less painful, still hurts tho
Question Author
It can be hard at times grasscarp. I now know what my mum and dad went through when I was diagnosed when I was 2. It took me a week or so to get my head round the start of this but I'm still finding things a challenge. I guess it's an ever changing field
if we knew then what we know now queenie lol
Question Author
