Cat Going On Holiday
29 Answers
Are cats as adaptable as dogs, as far as leaving them at someone else's house for a couple of days while I go on holiday? Do they settle easily in a different environment ?

If they'll eat dried food you can probably get away with leaving them for 2 or 3 days on their own (as long as you leave lots of water bowls around the house, so that if they drop bits of food into some of them they'll still have some fresher water elsewhere). Whenever I've done that I've rushed back to my feline friends, fearing that they'll be either starving or distressed by my absence, only to find that they're perfectly happy and don't seem to have missed me at all!

Hi, Seekerz.
I've got loads of pics of the moggies that I keep meaning to put online but I can't find the notepad that I wrote down my password for the picture website I was using! (It's on my list for sorting out in the near future!).
Patches (mother cat) is gradually coming to terms with having to live alongside her kids. After the 'loving' phase she went to the 'rejection' phase, growling and running away as soon as she saw any of them, so she lived outside for much of the time. She's now starting to come back in more often and she'll sleep alongside me on my bed if there aren't any of her kids around to start with. (It's OK if they come onto the bed later, when she's already asleep).
Tablo (the tiny little tabby girl cat, with ginger bits) should have been 'done' at the vets by now but she's so small that I've put it off by a few weeks. (The staff at the vet's surgery didn't seem concerned when I mentioned it). She's probably the noisiest cat in the world, with ability to miaow and purr at the same time as she rubs against my legs. As I've been typing this she's been on my desk, destroying my pin board by using it as a scratching post. A few hours ago she was proudly showing off her latest kill from hunting, but I'm not sure that butterflies really count, do they?
Moonbeam (the tabby and white boy) likes to make it clear that my lap is his personal property (and he's usually the first one to join me on my bed). He often pretends to be stand-offish and independent but he always knows where it's warm!
Biscuit (the ginger and white boy, who usually gets cally 'Bicky') is the aggressive hunter. If a day goes by without him delivering a mouse or bird to me it's very unusual! However he's a big softy at heart and he loves to cuddle up alongside me in bed.
Chequers (the black and white boy) is MASSIVE! (3.8kg at 6 months and growing daily). He's also the biggest, daftest, softest cat you could ever meet. He loves fuss (and sleeping on my chest when I'm in bed) and everything about him is totally different to any other cat in the world (including his tail, which has got a kink in it!).

Sounds lovely, a real menagerie of fluffies ! Ziggi crawled into the bottom of he bed this morning, licked my toes, then turned round, stuck his head out and watched the dogs carry on .... It's a mad house but I wouldn't swap it for the world.
Ok we'll all wait patiently for piccie update and I'm sure smurfie won't mind, we are on the right subject for a start !
