I had my grommet follow up today and my hearing is perfect....the left grommet isn't quite right but we are both going to ignore that... the whooshing of the pulse I can hear should settle down...eventually....☺
Anyway, it's always reassuring to know the heart is beating...
We did discuss the many illness in my notes that I don't have and the changes I made to my notes which he had seen...and been amused by.
He was also pleased that I hadn't followed the instructions I was sent home with....to insert two paracetamol four times a day into both eyes.....
He told me not to worry about the fact that I had, twice, got the wrong notes on my bed because I didn't die......quite often, he said, people have the right notes and end up dead....so I shouldn't complain too much.
He decided to discharge me but told the nurse to add a note to say that if he's having a bad day and wants cheering up by a mad Irish woman I am to be recalled...
I don't mind...as long as no scalpel is involved....he's quite a dish.....♥

The staff nurse looked shocked that the Professor in charge of her case had done that. Mum arrived at the nursing home with me about an hour behind, before I got there the staff thought her breathing was not right so called the doctor, who immediately admitted her, she had hospital contracted pneumonia.... A leading Prof at Queens Med, Nottingham had completely missed it or wanted his isolation bed for someone else.... Who knows! And it got worse from there on in.... So the very little faith I had in Doctors has diminished to zero. I know how you feel Ladies but I doubt we'll make a difference
I recall the junior doctor in Kettering who went against the advice of the kidney consultants and damaged MrG's fistula with an unnecessary procedure...life and death for a kidney patient.....
MrG was so worried that I would kill the doctor..then him for letting them near his fistula that I was told the doctor had been suspended.
He hadn't.....I met him in the lift.....I don't have a temper but I can talk....I took him to the canteen and gave a long chat on the lovely man he had damaged because he thought he was an old man who knew nothing.....and how, if he was to become a good doctor he must listen to and share with his patients.....on and on and on I went....til he started to cry...
I hope he has become a good doctor......he seemed to have it in him....if he could learn to listen and care....x
