I have a two year old Lab/Springer who is always eating grass,should I be concerned,or is it a harmless fad...it dosnt seem to do him any harm.

My cockers do that when there is 'juice' in the grass and it does them no harm at all.

My dog is always eating grass, he has his favourite locations on his walk where the grass must be a particular variety that he likes.

It has been observed in wild dogs and has a term applied to it... pica.

Some articles and opinions of veterinarians as well as those who raise dogs professionally will maintain that the eating of grass by dogs inherently helps them with various ailments... upset stomach, diarrhea (or conversely, constipation) and even anxiety.

Others, equally as sure of themselves, will say it's only because it tastes good... no one really knows for sure...

My dog does this from time to time and I think it's natural, so I just leave him to it. It's generally if he has the 'runs' !

Perfectly natural, it is good for their digestion.

It's actively encouraged in cats for their health - those kept in all the time (ie in tower blocks) should have a small pot of grass to nibble on.
