Word to Adobe?

Can anyone tell me how to convert microsoft word documents to Adobe or vice versa?

If you mean PDF format, you can download a free PDF creater at:

Download from the 2 links on the left and follow the instructions in the readme.

Adobe format is called PDF (portable document format).

Adobe make a product to convert Word and other formats to PDF.

There are also a number of other products (some free, some chargeable) that convert from word to PDF.

Search in Google for "PDF creator" or things like that.

I use the primoPdf printer (see vehelpfulguy's link). You just print your word document, but select the the PrimoPDF printer, and print to file. It's great because anything that can be printed can be converted, not just Word documents.

Use the print option as stated to transfer from word to pdf.

You can paste an adobe file on a word doc, just like a picture, but you won't be able to fully edit it.

The excellent OpenOffice can read and write Word files, and save them as PDF with good results.

I can't remember if it was you, fo3nix, who posted the openoffice.org link in a recent thread, but (having installed it years ago and decided it was rubbish), I decided to take a look at the current version.

I have to say I was very impressed - to the point that, although I have to have MS Office installed in order to support most of our customers, I have actually taken to using openoffice.org as my default. (Have to admit though, that I didn't realise it had a pdf capability).

Might have been me, yea. I tend to try and push it, because it's really pretty good now. And I'm a free software advocate.

The powerpoint-type program also has the capability to save your presentation as a flash file too; very handy also.
