No Credit On Payg!

Thought I'd ask here as someone is bound to know. My English Orange is very low on credit, was just wondering if I can still receive calls, voicemail and texts if it does run out until my UK credit card comes thought? or will I not receive anything?

Yes, you'll receive them. You wont be able to ring out or send texts. You won't be able to ring voicemail either.

Don't you have access to a debit card to top it up online?

I can top mine up at an ATM.....is there anyone in UK you could ask to do that for you?

No debit card as I am a foreign resident, no cheque book allowed either :-) I may ask sister to top it for me, thank you two x

Vodafone allow me £3.00 on tick if my credit runs out !! Might be worth checking if Orange have a similar plan ?

I think if you've run out of credit then you won't be able to answer a call either . I may be wrong. Have you no way of buying things online out there? I know I've topped up my daughter's phone online for her, or as you said, ask someone over here to do it for you.

This post is basically the same as JTH's but adds a little more detail:

Have you got a friend or relative in the UK who can help? They simply need to go any bank cash machine, put their debit card in and select the 'phone credit' option. Then they enter your phone number (twice, in case of mis-typing) and the amount they want to add to your phone credit. You can then either pay them back when you see them or send their money via PayPal.
