Which do you prefer, dogs or cats?

Not keen on dogs but they seem to be keen on me!! I've been into a few homes with dogs and there was a bit of a whiff.

ric.ror, you could always foster a dog when you have the time. I don't know where you are based but the rescue I support in Surrey fosters dogs out for a weekend or whatever you can commit to. They take dogs that are to be PTS, from all over the country, and Wales and Ireland. The are called Rescue Remedies if you want to google them and you will find all the info you need on there. Under the RR umbrella comes Terrier Rescue and Staffie Rescue and RR itself has all dogs other than Staffies or Terriers. So plenty of lovely dogs to choose from.

I couldn't make up my mind,so both. Sally gets me out in all weather...which is not a bad thing for someone who likes to hibernate like me.
Actually, the cats get me out also...when they are in demanding howling mode. ;-)

I fostered 4 kittens a while ago.
I actually started to like them and considered keeping a couple.
I'm glad "I saw the light" and returned them because one day they would have become cats, worst of luck :-)
