An old face from the 70's or therabouts. Does anyone else reckon that's him I have just seen on a trailer on ITV (just before the Bill).

I am sure it is, but I only got a brief look.

he was very ill a few years ago actually, didn't he have a terminal illness? Apologies if i am wrong there.

Isnt he still playing Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty bang bang looked good when we saw him.
Dont know about the Bill though.

He's still alive (I checked IMDb before I posted) and he isn't in, and it wasn't a trailer for, The Bill. It was some sort of traler just before the Bill started - a man in jammies having a shave or something. I only caught it very briefly, but he had that cheeky sort of grin Gary Wilmott had.

Sorry - haven't got anything useful to say, though! Although in about 1987 I did walk past him and he gave me a huge smile.
