Ipad 4 Attacked By Malware

i was happily surfing with the ipad safari browser when i suddenly got this pop up out of the blue:

"now is your chance to win an apple ophone 5s, click ok for details".

its obviously a scam and i wont click on ok

i cant get rid of it and now I cant use the safari browser or any links that use the internet.

Has anyone else been hit by this?

How can I get rid of it? I cant even get to an anti malware site to buy an app that would.

Just close Safari & restart and it should go

Thank you but it doesnt work. the screen is greyed out. even if i close safari and click on my youtube app icon it reverts to the original malware page.

It is an advert from a site you have been using. The same ads that are answerbank. If I Tap your link it goes to straight to the answerbank home page. If you have shut down your ipad and turned on again and it is still there I then Visit an apple shop. I have had them & I don't have any malware on my ipad as was told not necessary.

Close Safari

Then double click the home button and then fully close safari by swiping up.

Try safari again.

If that doesn't clear it, fully close it again, then go to settings, safari, advanced, then website data and clear either the offending site or all web data

Thank you tovok I will try that next time, fortunately sycamores suggestion got rid of the problem.

Do you have an antivirus on your IPad ? You are not immune to attacks you should download and install AVAST Free for Macs. It will stop any future attacks. Don't believe that Macs don't get viruses they do and are increasing all of the time as it becomes more popular.
