Just had a phone call from a bloke who said his company was carrying out a survey for revenue and customs, would I give him some details. Silly man, I told him where to go and what to do when he got there, seems he was not happy. What did he expect, calling on a Sunday afternoon. BE WARNED.
Like my caller last week at door trying to sell me broadband. I said I am quite happy with my broadband company . He said who is that I said tesco . He said oh just you wait in a few months you will begin to get problems . I said well in the past 10 years I have had no problems but I read about your company keep having problems and while I am at it did you learn to read as there is a sign there on window with no caller list .he hastily retreated .
You did the right thing, baza - I just tell them I never accept cold calls, and to delete me from their calling list. If HMRC were going to ring you, they'd have prewarned you.
If I have nothing else to do at the time I keep them on the phone for as long as I can, question after question, then tell them to sod off.
It reduces the time they have to hassle others.
