And they appear to be very good live, although the only live clips I’ve found on YouTube so far have been recorded on crowd cameras so the sound quality isn’t good.
Nevertheless YouTube is great for discovering bands for the first time – I like the way the right-hand column makes suggestions in the same sort of genre to what you’re currently watching. Mind you, while discovering bands before they’re cool is nice, there’s always a little sadness when you find bands that split up before you come across them. Arrows To Athens is a case in point for me. YouTube has all the tracks from their debut (and last – they split up in 2012) album Kings & Thieves and there really isn’t a duff track to be found. Used To Be, Alive, Run Run, Chase The Sun, Crime… they’re all brilliant songs from a band that simply disappeared after only a few years together. Shame.
