Adobe Flash Player.

Hi, I am finding it impossible to download adobe flash player. Every time I try i get one of two messages. 1.windows cannot access the specified device,path or file error when you try to install,update or start a program or file.2.the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86(32-bit) or x64(64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.
I have windows 7 home premium system type 64-bit.
I do not have the computer know-how to know what to do next. Any help will be greatly appreciated . kind regards, Jonty.

Hello again!

I'm still rather confused. Are you getting those messages when you try to DOWNLOAD the installation file to your computer or afterwards, when you try to RUN it? (I know that you've written 'download' in your post but I can't see how you could get that second message if you were simply downloading the file. At that stage Windows has no idea what type of file it is, so I can't see how it could possibly be classed as 'incompatible').

Flash Player is available in two basic versions, one is for Internet Explorer and the other for all other browsers. However (except for users of Linux), there are no separate versions for 32- and 64-bit systems:

Hi Buenchico, I thought I would try a different title to see what other response I can get. From the adobe site I load the file in to my download file, but when I try to proceed from there ,that is when I get the messages, although I have received the second message only once.Incidentally my browser is chrome21, does that affect anything? kind regrads, Jonty.

Well, now that we know that you're having problems when trying to run the installation file (rather than when downloading it),I'll refer you back to the link I offered you before:

(My guess is that you either need to change the 'permissions' on your computer - see 'Method 1' - or to temporarily disable your antivirus softeware - see 'Method 6'),

Hi, thanks for all your help, but I am still running round in circles. I deleted googlechrome from my pc and then downloaded the latest version, and guess what, when installation was completed it gave me the message " this version does not have adobe flash player" I tried installing firefox and the tried to install adobe flash player. Again no luck. I am sure no antivirus is blocking the installation, so what next, please help, Jonty.

Hi, another thought. When I try to access the video on the bradford bulls rlfc website I get the following message "The adobe flash playeer or an HTML5 supported browser is required for video feedback". However it always leads me to the Adobe Flash Player launch site . So where do I get an HTML5 supported browser? All replies will again be much appreciated, kind regards, Jonty.

I know almost nothing about HTML5 but the test page here

says that my browser supports all of the key elements of it.

So perhaps Firefox (which is the most popular browser among AB members anyway) might also be useful for you:

Hi, would you believe I have now finally got the progamme installed. I had to delete about 50 other programmes, some of which I guess contained viruses. Now my pc is clear, but as always there is a snag. I now need Javaprint, so I will open another question under that title. Again my thanks to all who have replied, best wishes, Jonty.
