Laser Treatment
25 Answers
Well today was the day...my left eye got a zapping. Lovely doctor she was really nice - slightly trigger happy with the laser - I explained I didn't feel comfortable with the lense that they use, so she gave me an extra drop of anaesthetic and a wee bit more gel and she did it so gently I wasn't aware of it being there. It's amazing what a nice doc and a bit of Disney can do! Back in December for a check but all being well that should be it sorted. I'm glad I can finally see now the drops have worn off been squinting and had glasses on and off, much to OH's amusement but got a ill bit of pain so painkillers after dinner.
Hope you are all well

I am going on Wednesday for a DAFNE check up so will mention it then. Sometimes I do have symptoms others I don't but at the moment I have no awareness what so ever of when I'm too high. I was 31 last night and wasn't drinking by the bucketload or anything nobody could smell ketones on me either and that was also checking with 2 meters.
Rabet - sadly no it was to prevent vessels in my eyes forming and to possibly stop a haemorrhage that I had a few weeks ago. But thank you. I'm rather fond of my specs and I wouldn't want to change them for the world.
Thank you Daisy :) should be back to normal in a few days. Head is a wee bitty sore as is my eye but that's normal for a few days.

That's a bit of a puzzle then queenie, just as well you're seeing someone tomorrow.
I must admit, as a mum, it was always the hypo signs I worried about him losing as he had two severe early morning seizure type hypos, requiring glucagon injections, just before he went off to Uni. Seems they were related to growth hormone levels dropping.
He talks about having a gluey mouth when his levels are too high but that's about it. I didn't ever notice the ketone odour on him. He's lived away from home for ten years now so I'm probably a bit out of touch with it all to be honest.
It'll be interesting to see what the DAFNE team have to say. Hope your eyes are feeling much better today xx

Thank you ethandron. It's usually that with me too but nothing - I don't even get moody anymore either when I'm too high. I'll let you know how I get on though. Eyes are ok but my left one is sore and sensitive to light but it's normal, so just having an easy-ish day going to make soup for my dinner and just chill with a magazine or something that can be done with the blind down or my sunnies on x
