The latest Rainbow Charity Quiz arrived on the doorstep this morning, entitled 'Join us for a G&T'.
Can't wait to get stuck in; both the quiz AND the G&T!
Get it here: http://www.rainbowcharitypuzzles.co.uk/
You'll have until the end of November, but even if you don't complete it, still do send it in so the charity (Childrens' Air Ambulance Service. Reg. Charity No. 1098874) can still benefit.
Good luck.
Have just received the following email from Neville Mizen, which confirms all our thoughts! "Hi, Douglas, Yes, 70 should obviously be 11 letters. Typing error, I'm afraid. I'm clearly cracking up! Still, my error rate over 4,400 clues is not too bad! All the best, Neville"
Sorry, I've only had a quick perusal in the last 24 hours, but I've never been aware of the setters making that kind of error. I suppose there's always a first time, but it's rather unlikely. We do have until the end of November, so even in the event I did know the answer, I would not publish it yet. Spoils the fun! Good luck anyway.
Q70. Answer is historically misspelt. The clue and answer here obviously straddle both versions. Clue suggests 10 letters so incorrect spelling is the answer.
I have already emailed the setter but as yet had no reply.
I agree, the anagram & definition both lead one to an 11 letter answer. It is so clear cut that I cannot believe that there is another completely different solution
I too have emailed the compiler to confirm the number of letters, re question 70, but as yet there has been no reply. I go along with elliemay1 regarding the obvious anagram! Although the comment has been made that the compiler "has never made an error" I would be very surprised if the answer is not one of eleven letters. We can only wait to see if a response to our various emails is forthcoming!!
Have managed to contact Marian Stringer, the Organiser, who tells me that Neville Mizen is on holiday and is due to return on the 13th of September, after which we shall probably all be enlightened as to the situation re question 70!!
I phoned Neville and left a message on his ansaphone with the same query. Logically it must be 11 as that's the anagram. That's the answer I've got at the moment unless we hear otherwise.
Incidentally the number for Marian came up as unobtainable when I tried to ring her.
Proximus - I spoke to Marian on the 5th of September, on 01279-651549. I did notice that she has changed her address since the last quiz, but her telephone number is unchanged. So if, like me, you had a few labels printed for future quizzes, it may be worth your while in amending them!!

"Hi, Douglas,

Phew! At last we can relax, or can we?
Poor Neville obviously needed his holiday.
Well done all of you for sticking with it.
Only 99 to go! Though in my case..........
I don't expect to see any more on this topic as Neville has sorted it. So I'm going to consider it closed if no one objects. Further questions should started under a new topic, though I hope nobody gives out answers, just hints perhaps, before the end of November. Good luck everyone.
Sorry, we can't find any related questions. Try using the search bar at the top of the page to search for some keywords, or choose a topic and submit your own question.
