Famous people do famous things and they may not be interesting to talk to - or may not be able to speak interestingly about it
I was asked on the steps of Cairo museum ( archeology: where King Tut is ) which one of the team was famous - by an american tourist of course
after six months in the desert together - we never worked together again.
I hesitate to say we ever worked as a team. Was it to do with him being famous - or not famous enough ? yeah probably
Later I found another member ( Elizabeth Crowfoot ) Her sister was Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin - what you mean the one who got the Nobel Prize in Physiology ? Yeah and she never said once in six months "O my sister is a Nobel Prize winner did I ever say ?". Perhaps one famous person too many. Both dead so we will never know.
Another's cousin/ brother may have got another Nobel Prize - well there are limited number of Nobel winners with names like Schnitz-oola, and are born and bred in Aubigny-les deux-toilettes. (OK names anonymised )
Famous people O god keep away from them.
Baldric should know a few famous people - what about Cmdr Hugh Jolly ? author of The Red and Green Life Machine..... ( account of the Falklands)
That's the whole point of any anonymous site, phleb - anyone who might be famous can come on here and not be fawned over or slated - that's the beauty of AB - so nobody's likely to tell you, if they are! Anyhow, Site Rules say we mustn't give out personal details......
I have been on TV 3 times and I was interviewed by Ruth Langford. I have also had an article written about me in a well known Paper and had my picture in one the Anti Field sports campaign magazines.
Im not sure I have ever been known as famous though, neither would I want to.
