Macmillan Nurses Paid Or Not ??

The famous Macmillan nurses who look after cancer patients in the advanced stages of the illness,are they paid a wage or are they all (or some of them) volunteers ?

They must be paid. How would they manage otherwise?

McMillan is now just a branch of the NHS and yes, of course they get paid.

Macmillan says...
For the first three years of a nurse's post, we fund their salary and some of their training costs. We make sure the organisation that's employing them has agreed to continue funding once the three year Macmillan grant is completed. At the end of that time the Macmillan nurse doesn't just disappear, they continue to be a member of the NHS or the hospice where they're working and it's the NHS or the hospice that pays their salary.

yes, they are all paid a wage - similar to a senior nurse. They are not volunteers, but nurses who have continued their training in cancer care and/or specialist palliative care at end of life.
