Epson Stylus Photo Rx 425 Printer

I don't wish to flog this subject to death,but because I have the above printer that's several years old but "fully useable" do I have to discard it because the drivers are out of date? Or do I have to buy expensive software to update the drivers,please say there is a free way of doing it? Thanks !!

I'm assuming you've changed your pc/laptop? So what have you got now and what O/S?

No it's the same PC that i've had for a few years OS is Vista

Most drivers can be obtained at Epson's Support site, see here.

D/L and install the 'EPSON EasyPrintModule (3.10)'

Done all that thanks,but still get "error occurs while printing"but it doesn't start.

Other than suggesting you check and clean everything on the printer, your printer may have gone to printer 'heaven'.

They are not made to last forever and some might consider you have done well to have got several years out of it. I find my printers only last about five years before they start causing problems.

There is nothing wrong with the printer as I can copy an item and then print with no problem,its when I need to print something from the PC there appears to be no communication between the two,something that has happened only recently.Thanks.

Tried a different usb cable? Tried the printer on someone else's pc? You need to find out which is causing the problem.

What type of file you trying to print?

Of all the bits and bobs i've accrued ie various cables and fittings a usb isn't one of them.Also I don't have access to another PC.
I'm only trying to print an email just to prove the process at the moment.
