I've never known a tumble drier to be able to hold or dry anywhere near 7kg of wet clothing. Many washing machines don't have that capacity.
It sounds to be like you have put far too many clothes in.
Is the exhaust clear and the filters? the moisture has to be able to get out.
Was the drum rotating ok?
How well spun were the clothes from the wash and how dense a load?
The fact that the clothes were hot means the element is ok.
Did you hear the drum rotating... if it doesn't tumble the clothes then they would still be damp/wet.
That would indicate a slipping or broken drive belt.

ive never known a tumble dryer to only take 30mins to dry clothes, minimum is 1.5-2 hours for a full load esp if you have towels in there, remember part of that time is a long spin so you are only giving your dryer 15 mons to dry which is unreasonable for 2kg, check dryers instructions as most dryers have a max, and remember your clothes must be spun at 1400 for them to dry properly in a dryer
Yeah, check that it's turning. You might have a torn belt.
