Does anyone know of any websites/books or relevant information regarding a Scottish Island where they practice a unique form of Wicca. Apparently the island is a law unto itself and anyone going there to study is isolated from society?

Most of the refs Ive found to Socttish Wicca are based in Edinburgh. Im curious though, as this sounds like the plot of a cult film "The Wicker Man"
Question Author
There are many who believe that the "Wicker man" was based on the cult. Although very loosely I think the cult are called Pecti-Wica. They live in a castle ... sorry I can't be more specific.
I remember reading an article which listed in great detail so-called 'cults' which were accepted as truth, but which had started as nothing more than fiction in a novel. These stories had captured the public imagination to such an extent that a whole culture had grown up around them. 'Wicca' was one such cult .
I live on a small Scottish island and, take it from me, the weirdest 'cult' around here is the strictly protestant Wee Free church!
Wicca is a relatively new 'religion' and was founded in England by Gerald Gardner (1883-1964). He wrote a book called 'Witchcraft Today' soon after the repeal of the Witchcraft Act in 1951. Using a wide range of influences - from Hinduism to folk magic to freemasonry - Gardner invented a celebratory religion which incorporated Celtic festivals and recognised to power of nature. He called it Wicca (wicce is the Anglo-Saxon word for witch), and he was the first to use that term. Wicca was taken up by Aleister Crowley. It is now the fastest growing cult/religion in the world and is recognised as a religion by the US army. To read about the history of the myth of witchcraft, buy 'Witchcraft: A History' by PG Maxwell-Stuart.
Wiccans claim to follow essentially the same set of practices as the celtic pagans. They don't but they claim it. If you want a really thorough grounding go straight to the source...Frazers Golden Bough or Murrays History of the Witch Cult in Western Europe.

Just to get back on track hear. First Wica is NO Myth. I am a practising Witch (Wica being the new religion).
Second: There really is such a cult living on a Scottish island. How do I know this? Well I have read books on people who have studied there. I simply wanted to know if anyone knows of any literature which is devoted solely to this subject. I think it is called Pecti-Wica and the 'Head Honcho' lives in a castle on the remote island.
Thirdly: The comments regarding the film 'Wicker Man' are my own oberservations. They are NOT FACT. So please don't quote me........;)
Many thanks tho for the thread....it's getting to be interesting reading and I love your input.
