Lebeca Webacm Not Working On Windows 8

I have just reinstalled my Lebeca webcam since getting Skype, and the computer thinks it's a Lenovo Q 350 and although I can get the light on when I activate it it won't load up as the computer endlessly searches for a different item. I did try to download a driver for W8 (mine's only up to Vista which may be the problem) and only found a stream of malware and hijacker sites. Lebeca no longer exist so I can't ask them directly. Bottom line, do I have to buy a new webcam? The same thing happened to my perfect Canon scanner which isn't supported past XP.
