hi peeps, I am from Middlesex... well, this is perhaps an argument for having a Legal topic; people do post occasionally, worried (often justifiably) about what sentence they'll get for some sort of misbehaviour. Along with the reprimands, they do get good advice from people like buggy (now gone elsewhere) and Ward-Minter, who I think is a former public executioner. I think it's a fair enough subject for a question, though occasionally some of them are rather bloodcurdling.

jno beating up your wife when drunk and also having a knife drawn at the time is not misbehaviour it is possiby attempted murder. Though he has been charged with ABH, which is very serious. Why would anyone want to come on here as a greeenie and ask a question lke tha? I wonder if he joined with the intention of actually staying around for a reply!

well, I did say some of them were bloodcurdling dot; but I think he's got as much right as anyone to know what to expect. AB is actually a pretty good place to come to, greenie or otherwise, for such information. Are you thinking it might be another wind-up? You could be right, of course. I am resolutely anti-sexist so I do not consider hitting a wife to be worse than hitting anyone else (which is to say I don't approve of hitting anyone at all); the mention of the knife does worry me, but then again if he did have enough control not to use it, that might indicate hope of redemption and does suggest that a charge of attempted murder would fail. He hit her, he is being charged with assault, and he will be punished for it.

jno i agree, you are a very diplomatic person, there are a few people on here that get too aggresive all they need to do it press report, but instead they go and put up their own thread and B&S turns into a free all argument.

Well people who own up that they've done something they are already being charged with don't really bother me, nor really do the tax dodgers, Dss scroungers etc .The scenario that worries me is if someone posted that they were a rapist, child molester etc etc etc that hadn't been caught but who were seeking advice to enable them to change and not conitnue. That'd scare the hell out of me and I think under those very exceptional circumstances I'd mention it to the Police. Other than that it really doesn't bother me what people post, different things are important to different people so everyone's entitled to post a question.
