Was This The Worst Answer On A Quiz Show Or Do You Know A Better One

On todays "Piontless" the question asked was "What is the county town od Northamptonshire "The answer given was London.
PS The answer was Northampton.

In a similar vein as the original post – not that long ago, a radio quiz posed the question:- Name the Bedfordshire town which is ‘Unstable’ with the first letter of its name removed?

The contestant answered ‘Milton Keynes’

But I always think of this one when this Q pops up.

I thought that was one of the most difficult rounds they have had on Pointless. I live in Lancashire but didn't know the answer to that was Preston, I thought it was Manchester! If I was asked what the county town of Lanarkshire was I would just say any place in Scotland that I'd heard of and I think that is what this Scottish lady did.

I thought it was a hard round too, though I did know several from both boards. However, I' m not at all sure I'd remember anything if I was put on the spot like that. Yes, I know they enter the show but wonder sometimes if they really no now how ' being in the spotlight' is going to affect them.

divebuddy, I actually remember that girl who said 'marsupial'. She didn't get one question right and left with NOTHING! I've never known that happen before. I often wish they'd repeat it, but they never do ! I also remember the bloke with her in the audience putting his head in his hands in despair !
