I have tio admit that this is the first time I've ever heard the English diet being held up as an example! Why are our Scottish comrades so unhealthy?

I'd love to see just how healthy the English diet is compared to the rest of our E.U comrades.
Abroad we're spoilt with garlic, Olive oil and fresh fruit/veg/salads at every meal.
Here we have some burnt and fatty deep fried meat and some stodgy carbs with a spoonful of veg and this is meant to be "Healthy" or "Healthier" than our Scottish/Welsh/Irish counterparts?
I was about to say that this isn't an applause on the English diet but moreso an attack on the Scottish/Welsh/Irish diet but under closer inspection it's exactly as youngmafbog said bar the lentil crunching veggie comment.
Fyi, if your lentils are crunchy then they haven't been cooked thoroughly.

Amadeus is also a good feast favoured by the locals - if you know where to find it. No veg there apart from 1/2 spud. It is an all you can eat rib joint with 2 litre bottles of wine on every table.
And as for the chips, donners and burgers in Spain .....
