24d, I think it's creditworthiness but it doesn't parse...or does it?

Apologies bookbinder...feeling lazy. It's, buy with gold, your old shillings being suitable for loan (16)
which letters do you have already?

I just had 'I' in 12th position...guessing, as usual!
I think it's ok, Kapa. I can't, at the moment, parse all of it, but here's what I can see:
your old shillings =thine (old word for your) + ss = shillings.
suitable for loan = creditworthiness.
Buy with gold? Can't parse that bit, at the moment.
Buy(believe) - credit
with - w
your old - thine
gold - or
shillings - ss

Credit w or thine ss.
I can see WITH OR (gold) as giving you the WORTHI part of your suggested answer...
buy = credit w = with 0r = gold thine is old word for yours ss = shillings
