Are you looking for a service provider so you can access your emails and the occasional browsing, or are you a dedicated online gamer?
Speaking purely for myself, I use The Utilities Warehouse, but principally because I got a really good combined telephone line rental/discounted calls/unlimited use broadband package, all on one bill and totalling around 30/month all in, which I thought was pretty good. So far (1.5years) I have had no problems whatsoever.
You can check out what they have to offer if you like by going to;

I have just changed from Wanadoo to Tiscali and have no complaints. Didn't cost me any money to go to Tiscali other than the 14.99 pm(for broadband of course). What I do know is that when I moved house the time befor this Wanadoo charged me 42 for the privilege of staying with them. I have no complaints , in general, about either except Wanadoo seems to cost more and Wanadoo also charge for initial set-up which Tiscali do not.
My father signed up to Tiscali without realising that the package was not unlimited access. We found their helpline to be extremely poor and it took a long time for them to cancel our order. We're now on Pipex and it's been trouble free :).
I would try and wait a short while before committing yourself though; the news says that broadband prices are set to fall dramatically.
