Iron marks

I have found an iron mark on the carpet. It hasnt scorched it just sort of made the carpet hard and crusty. How can I get the carpet back to normal?

Depends on how deep it has burnt, you could get a razor and shave the top bit off. If it isn't deep, you shouldn't notice a difference.

You could very carefully cut out the piece of scorched carpet and swap it with a piece of carpet from a hidden area, maybe from underneath a sofa or bed, making sure that the condition of the pile is in a similar condition to the one you are swapping with, then gluing it down when you are happy with it.

I did this a few years ago and was really pleased with the result.
