When I was a lad (many years ago) living in Sheffield, when I said I was going out with a lass, my Dad used to say " No manking "
I know what he meant, but where does the saying come from ?

He was mankin' tonight. And for the record, we were hoping, for his sake, that he was drunk and desperate. http://pt.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mankin
