Really stuck on 6d. I think it's 'hazy' but I cant work out thee country dance bit of the clue. I also can't get 25d. Absolutely no ideas on that one. Can anyone help?

Perhaps someone could help you if you provided us with the complete clues, number of letters & any "crossers" you may already have!

Oops, sorry. 6d is four letters, and I have _A_Y. The clue is 'Last character seen in country dance is ill-defined'. 25d is also four letters, and I have A_E_. The clue for that one is 'Attention-getter, one on edge.'

Thanks Wharton. I get 'ahem' (excellent clue now I know the answer!) but I don't understand 'hazy'. I get the last character being z but what's the country dance bit?

............yes, or buy a great big Chambers, where they give both spellings, "hay" and "hey"!!!
