1. How involved was the Major in writing the medal citation?
2. Is there now an officer(s) deserving of such a gallantry medal that has not been recognised?
3. Should there be closer scrutiny of how the awards are conferred?
Serving officers deserve to be recognised for their heroic deeds but taking the credit for embellishing facts or stealing another officer's thunder is unforgiveable.

I'm sure this would no be the first time some one has exaggerated something like this, but know he been found out it's only right that he is stripped or the medal as it lessens the award for genuine recipients, I would be surprised if he does not resign his commission soon, if not the he should be sack.
