What is the political definition of a 'thug'?

Stuey, imagine you're stopped by the police. An nicely fashioned garotte would get you into a deal of trouble. A football supporters scarf would go unremarked. But they'd both do the job should the occasion require it.

I never thought of it that way. A neck-scarf used to strangle by the neck being worn around the neck as a concealed weapon. Those dastardly thugs!

Curiously enough, in all the years of violence here I don't think anybody ever played Othello and choked the life out of a political opponent. Probably every other way imaginable, but not that.
