Have Iphone 3Gs But.....

I know its time to upgrade my phone but in the meantime would I be able to update to iOs7.0 without everything crashing all time? (It is NOT crashing at the moment - I am currently on version 6.1.3, I think. And according to my phones stats (when I look at settings) Capacity is 6.2 GB, Available 575MB

I want to know about this as I'd really like to download both Yahoo News Digest and the app that enables you to open .mmo files (Memory Map) or .gpx GPS map listed on The Walking Englishman app. (when I press on either it says safari cannot download this file.

All suggestions greatly appreciated

Not sure the 3Gs will run IOS 7, plug it into iTunes and check for software update and it will tell you, I ran Memory-Map fine on a 3Gs but you don't download apps via Safari but the App Store.
