We presently use a PAYG '3' USB stick to access the internet when we are on the move in the UK. Does anyone know if there is a competitor to '3' for a data only PAYG sim? We also use FON but seldom find signals away from built up areas.

The contract with GiffGaff is for one month only though. Copied from their site: "No contract & total flexibility. You can set your gigabag to automatically recur, or change it each month to suit your needs." It sounds ok to me, as you can cancel when you're coming to the end of your travels, with no penalty.

What are you currently paying ??

Either £10 or £15 per month depending how much we are away. £10 gives us 1 meg and £15 3 meg.
I take it you mean 1 Gig and 3 Gig :)

If it's just data you're using, go to the following site and put "zero" in the minutes and text box.

For a 1 month SIM only contract with GiffGaff, you can get 500 Mb for £5; or 1 Gig for £7.50; or 3 Gig for £12.50.

Thanks for that tip. The results are for contract only deals. As we only use the mobile interent when we are travelling in the Motorhome, sadly only 4-5 months per year the contract deals are not of interest. It has however confirmed that '3' are the only kid on the block!
